According to Fox 32 Chicago, the Trump Administration has paused the processing of all visa applications. The administration claims that it is due to USCIS wanting to train US immigration officials on handling application of people that may become a public charge.

Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) is a program created by Congress that provides juveniles who have been traumatized at home the ability to stay in the United States through a process.

It is understandable that one would want to diminish the quantity of cases currently in backlog.

But at what cost?

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Illinois lawmakers are sounding the alarm on ICE and the Trump Administration. They claim that in the government's effort to reduce the backlog, is costing these juveniles their DUE PROCESS created by Congress via this program.

If you are a juvenile or know if a juvenile that has entered the U.S. unaccompanied as a minor, then that juvenile might qualify for SIJS.
