Two excessive-force lawsuits were filed against Des Moines PD by GRL Law in the past month. Spoiler alert: more are coming. A special thank you to the unidentified individual who, after we lost an excessive force trial at the beginning of the year, sent us anonymous fan mail saying that the defendant officer "should have shot [the victim] in the face" and "we laugh at you." Whoever the unidentified motivational speaker is, we appreciate you. Your words greet us every morning, hanging on our wall, filling our entire office with laughter.
