Choosing a color palette for a property is always intentional.

For this bedroom, we debated keeping things light and neutral or leaning into something a little deeper. We chose olive green + plum—and it completely changed the feeling of the space.

With fall around the corner, we loved the idea of bringing in richer, moodier tones that feel current without overpowering the room. Paired with warm woods, layered textures and the beautiful finishes of this new construction home, the palette feels elevated, cozy and just a little unexpected.

Sometimes the right color story is what makes a room memorable.

Rich, moody color on the walls layered with a mix of vintage-inspired and modern furniture. The contrast adds depth, warmth, and that collected-over-time feeling we’re always chasing.

A little old. A little new. And so much character. 🤎

When we started Salt + Pine, we were the stagers, movers, buyers, schedulers, warehouse team, client care team…and everything in between.

Growing a business means eventually realizing that being capable of doing something doesn’t necessarily mean you should still be the one doing it.

And that transition is harder than we expected.

Right now, we’re thinking a lot about what truly needs us—and what we need to let go of so we can actually lead the company we’re building.

So we’re curious, fellow business owners:

What was the hardest thing for you to finally hand off?

Growth isn’t always about saying yes to more.

One of the hardest lessons we’ve learned as business owners is that sometimes growth looks like saying no—to the wrong projects, unrealistic expectations, exceptions to our boundaries, and yes… sometimes even revenue.

Every yes costs something: time, energy, inventory, or team capacity.

We’re learning that the right no can make room for a much better yes. 🤎

Some things never go out of style.

Around here, we think it’s kind of chic to design with purpose, lead with intention, and never stop refining the way we work.

From styling for the buyer instead of the homeowner to investing in quality, obsessing over the details, and continuing to learn—these are the things that shape every home we stage and every decision we make.

And yes… it’s also kind of chic to build a business with your sister. 🤍

What would you add to the list?
