As many of you know, I am a Real Estate attorney and part of my work is do to closing and title work when a piece of property sells. This closing was a special one as the seller wasn’t just any client but someone who attended the same K-12 as I did. Pretty cool to see someone all grown up and doing well that i used to see when she and her twin brother were in kindergarten and I was in High School. Their mom also worked there and got to see her and others long after I graduated when I was the school’s “i/t guy” congrats to all involved - was a breeze. Shout out to realtors and savannah unrugh. #2022 after two years of not meeting in person we are finally back to the two and a half day Attorney’s Title Fund “Assembly” a two and half day conference networking seeing colleagues and Fund staff. Pictured with is Debbie Hart who was part of the Attorney’s Title team that taught me all things title / closing that has been a key part of my law practice for over ten years! The event is also a quick way to pick up relevant continuing education credits the Florida bar requires. Nice trip, good info, good venue and good people.

Checking out a case to make sure it’s still valid in preparation for my presentation for the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Real Estate Committee this Wednesday, October 14, 2021, called “Real Estate Transactions 101” for the non-Real Estate Attorney. The presentation can also be given to agents and brokers who are new or need a refresher on Contracts. I don’t get to do much legal research but it’s “fun” to me. Diaz v Kosch is a very interesting case when it comes to Real Estate Transactions and a costly example of what can go wrong when you don’t follow the terms of the contract!
