I was incredibly proud to watch my brother-in-law, Attorney Edrick Barnes, welcome our community to his beautiful waterfront law firm for an evening dedicated to civic engagement, voting rights, and empowering voters.

Kudos to President Freddelle Menard, Esquire, for her vision in creating this important event, which featured State Representative Jervonte Edmonds, Senator Mack Bernard, and candidates in a local County Court judicial race, including Schnelle Tonge for Judge, whom I’m happy to support!

Thank you to the Judicial Diversity Initiative, the NAACP, the League of Women Voters, and everyone who helped make this sold-out event such a tremendous success. Your commitment to educating and empowering our community is invaluable.

I’m honored to serve as Chairperson of the Communications Committee for the Florida Board of Bar Examiners.

Today, I had the privilege of joining my colleagues from the FBBE at The Florida Bar Convention’s Young Lawyers Division Summit. Those in attendance from the FBBE included Executive Director Missy Gavagni, Chair Cristina Groschel, Vice-Chair Laura Pincus, and General Counsel William Pafford.

Our Executive Director led a comprehensive discussion regarding the NextGen Bar Examination with Florida law school deans and members of the Florida Supreme Court, providing valuable insight into the evolution of attorney licensure and the future of legal education in Florida.

We also discussed the work of the Communications Committee and our ongoing collaboration with the Young Lawyers Division to enhance outreach, engagement, and communication with stakeholders throughout Florida’s legal community.

I greatly enjoyed the opportunity to participate in these meaningful conversations and to engage with leaders across the profession on issues that will help shape the next generation of lawyers.

It was a privilege to attend the Florida Board of Bar Examiners Policy Meeting in Naples, Florida, alongside distinguished members of Florida's legal community, including Florida Supreme Court Justice Jorge Labarga.

The meeting provided an important opportunity to discuss policies and initiatives that help maintain the integrity, professionalism, and excellence of the legal profession in our state.

Thank you to the Florida Board of Bar Examiners for hosting a productive and memorable meeting. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to discussions that help shape the future of Florida's legal profession while also enjoying the fellowship that makes this organization so special.

Congratulations to outgoing President Jean Marie Nelson Middleton on a successful year of leadership and service to our legal community. Your dedication and commitment have helped advance the mission of the Association and support attorneys throughout Palm Beach County.

Tonight, I had the honor of Chairing the City of West Palm Beach’s Nuisance and Abatement Board Hearings. I greatly enjoyed hearing from members of our community and working alongside my fellow board members to help ensure that our neighborhoods remain safe, clean, and welcoming for all residents.

Public service is an important responsibility, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to efforts that enhance the quality of life throughout our community. Thank you to the residents who took the time to participate and share their concerns. Together, we can continue building stronger and safer neighborhoods.

Many thanks to Christine Sylvain, Executive Director of Path to College, for the invitation to attend the Path to College EdFest Luncheon today.

I was incredibly impressed by the high school students who delivered their EDTalk presentations—Path to College’s version of a TED Talk. Each student spoke with confidence, authenticity, and insight, addressing important issues impacting their generation and our communities. Their thought leadership, poise, and passion for making a difference were truly inspiring.

Path to College is an outstanding nonprofit organization dedicated to helping high-achieving students access college opportunities, scholarships, mentorship, leadership development, career readiness programs, and the support they need to reach their full potential—regardless of their financial background. The organization works to expand educational equity and open doors for the next generation of leaders.

Congratulations to the students, mentors, and supporters who make this life-changing work possible. The future is bright, and today’s EDTalk speakers proved that the next generation is ready to lead.

Memorial Day is a sacred reminder of the true cost of freedom. While many gather with family and friends today, we must never forget the reason for this holiday — to honor the brave men and women of the Military who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is a national day of remembrance dedicated to honoring military service members who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the freedoms we enjoy every day. The meaning of this day is found in gratitude, reflection, and remembrance. It is a time to honor courage over comfort, service over self, and the extraordinary sacrifices made by generations of Americans and their families.

Today we proudly pause to remember those heroes and extend our deepest gratitude to the families who continue to carry their legacy forward. May we never take their sacrifice for granted. 🇺🇸
