Historically I don't use Facebook as it means to publicize or advertise. I think now and then I have posted something on here, but never a part of a marketing strategy.

I did general civil litigation from 1997 to 2005, took a hiatus to relocate from another state and get an active license in California, then did civil litigation based out of Los Angeles since 2007. My practice has focused exclusively employment disputes since 2015, and had a good enough source for new cases that I did very little advertising and promotion.

As times to change and technologies, and competition increases among employment lawyers, I have decided to become more active promoting in publicizing my firm. I'm still not sure Facebook will be as significant part of that, but I took time today to look over my page and thought I'd post this summary and update, in case anyone seeing this page wonders why it has had so little activity till now though I've been in practice over 25 years.

Thanks for reading.

Almost 5:00 pm on the last work day of 2023. Time for a rare Facebook update post?

I've been an attorney doing litigation around 25 years, since 1997. I've done some employment cases over the years, but since 2015 made it my sole practice area (handling employment disputes & representing employees suffering harassment, discrimination, retaliation, other employer abuse). Recoveries for the year in the million$, but confidentiality clauses prevent me from posting case-by-case results.

Well not too much to say, I guess.

I've gotten a number of calls from employees who were fired or are under threat of being fired for not getting the COVID-19 vaccine, where the employers have made the vaccine mandatory. I have to decline these cases, at least so far, because the law (for now) seems to side with the employers, and seems to permit them to make the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory for employees. The rationale is that employers have a legitimate interest in keeping their employees, and those with whom the employees interact, healthy. Note, in all the cases presented to me, the employee had to work around lots of people (coworkers or customers). If I were presented with a case where an employee worked remotely from home, and refused the vaccine on religious grounds (or perhaps some other reasonable grounds), and was fired for that refusal, I might take that case. If the employee never interacts with customers or co-workers, it seems the employer might not have a legitimate or significant business reason to require that employee to get the vaccine.
