There is an epidemic of in custody deaths across the country. When the government takes one’s liberty away, they are charged with that person’s safety while in custody. County of Orange had a duty to protect Mr. Pulido, and they failed. The entire time the brutal attack was going on, for over 4 minutes, no staff responded. When they finally did, there was absolutely no urgency in rendering life saving aid to Mr. Pulido, despite an obvious medical emergency. Mr. Pulido passed away 15 days after the brutal attack. We’re pursuing accountability so that change can be inspired within the OC Sheriff’s department, so that in the future, situations like this one could be prevented or mitigated.
