June is PTSD Awareness Month, a time to recognize that posttraumatic stress disorder can affect anyone, including veterans and civilians who have experienced sexual violence, serious accidents, disasters, or other traumatic events.
PTSD is more common than many people realize, and while effective treatments are available, too many people still do not get the help they need. This month, we join in helping spread the message that treatment works, support matters, and healing is possible.
Everyone living with PTSD deserves understanding, access to care, and hope for a better quality of life.
