Today, there are approximately 390,000–400,000 children in the U.S. foster care system. Over the past decade, the number of licensed foster homes has declined, leaving more children waiting longer for safe, stable, and permanent families.
Of those children: Approximately 117,000 are currently waiting to be adopted. Each year, an estimated 20,000–26,000 young adults age out of the foster care system without ever finding a permanent family.
These numbers represent real children — children who deserve love, stability, encouragement, and hope for their future.
You can help. If you’ve been considering becoming a foster parent, or if that’s not an option, you can help in supporting a Texas Ministry, Family First of North Texas AG, that is educating churches about this vital ministry & providing housing & other important support to teens who have aged out of the system & many times find themselves homeless.
