Bittersweet Goodbyes. Enduring Legacies.

Today, after 34 years, Libbi's dear friend Annmarie said goodbye to 16 E Glen Circle. A home she shared with the love of her life, Bart, and a home from which the two of them helped shape the neighborhood Libbi is lucky enough to call her own.

Together, Annmarie and Bart took care of people. They kept a watchful eye. They showed up. They offered support before anyone had to ask for it. They found resources, solved problems and helped make Indian Lane not simply a collection of houses, but a true community.

And they loved each other. Deeply.

When we look at this photo of Annmarie beside Bart, we see a woman who loves a man and a man who loves a woman. We see the kind of love that is forged over a lifetime and remains even when one person is no longer physically beside the other. We see a strong, capable woman moving forward on her own, carrying with her a once-in-a-lifetime love that will always be part of who she is.

Today, Annmarie leaves 16 E Glen Circle in the loving hands of new owners who already cherish the home and this neighborhood. They even have a dog, so at least one important Annmarie-and-Bart tradition will continue.

The township Christmas light display championship, however, may be asking too much. Some legacies simply cannot be replicated.

Annmarie, Libbi treasures you and respects you. And she knows she speaks for so many when she says that Indian Lane will miss you terribly, just as we miss Bart.

But what the two of you built here will remain: A beautiful home. A stronger neighborhood. And a legacy of love and community that will live on long after today's closing day.
