Do you have children over the age of 18 and want to make sure they are protected? Check out this Fox News segment about the important legal documents that your college age child should have. In Georgia at a minimum, every parent should make sure they have a 1. HIPPA Authorization, 2. Healthcare Directive, and 3. Durable Power of Attorney on their child. Once a child turns 18, parents no longer have the legal authority to make decisions to take care of their child or the ability to access medical information if their child is in an accident. These important documents would ensure that your young adult is protected and you have the ability to act as their guardian in emergency situations.

Here are the four documents estate-planning expert Jason Smolen says all parents should have prepared for their kids as soon as they turn 18-years-old in case of an emergency.

Today is Flag Day! America’s Flag Day marks the Second Continental Congress’s adoption of the first U.S. national flag on June 14, 1777. The first flag featured the same 13 red and white stripes we see today. However, the number and arrangement of stars have changed as the number of states has increased over the centuries. The current flag has remained the same since 1960.
