The Virginia Court of Appeals reversed a $1.5 million medical malpractice verdict and entered final judgment for our clients. The Court held that failure-to-refer claims require expert testimony regarding not only what a specialist accepting a referral would have done, but what the standard of care required that specialist to do—evidence that plaintiff did not provide at trial.

Brian is a Director at the Firm, co-chair of the Real Estate Practice Group, a Director in the Trusts & Estates Practice Group and Chair of the Firm’s Marketing Committee.
