šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø What is the Diversity Visa Program?

The Diversity Visa (DV) Program gives eligible individuals from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the United States an opportunity to apply for an immigrant visa through a random selection process.

Here are a few important things to know:

• Registration is free.
• Selection is random.
• Eligibility requirements apply.
• Being selected does not guarantee a visa.
• Beware of scams and unauthorized websites charging fees to enter the lottery.

šŸ“Œ Immigration laws and program requirements can change. Make sure you rely on official information and understand your options before taking action.

Need guidance regarding your immigration options?

Good Morning from the Law Office of Yolanda M. Thompson, PLLC

A major win for constitutional rights: a Federal Judge has blocked the order restricting birthright citizenship. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

The 14th Amendment remains protected — children born in the U.S. are citizens, regardless of their parents’ status.

The Office continues to monitor developments and provide strategic guidance for immigrant families and advocates.

"Judge blocks Trump’s birthright citizenship order aimed at ā€˜birth tourism’
The judge said Trump’s new order defies the Supreme Court’s ruling in June that struck down the birthright citizenship order he issued on his first day in office."

A federal judge has blocked one of President Donald Trump’s latest attempts to limit birthright citizenship.

U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman issued a preliminary injunction Wednesday barring enforcement of provisions in an executive order Trump signed last month seeking to deny citizenship to children born on U.S.

Boardman said Trump’s new order defies the Supreme Court’s ruling in June striking down the key provisions of a more sweeping directive he issued on his first day in office that sought to end birthright citizenship for children born to foreigners not in the U.S. legally or in the country on limited-duration visas.

'The Supreme Court has spoken,' wrote Boardman, a Maryland-based Biden appointee. The high court’s June decision, she said, ā€œis the law of the land. The President must follow it.ā€

Self-care is all about taking time to nurture your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It's an investment in yourself!

For some people, that might mean setting aside quiet time with a book or going for a nature walk. Others might find self-care in a favorite hobby, cooking a comforting meal, or simply making time for a good nap. It's all about what makes you feel rejuvenated and balanced.

Self‑care is a form of courage — especially for immigrants.

In the middle of paperwork, deadlines, long work hours, and the emotional weight of building a life in a new country, taking time to rest is not a luxury. It’s an act of preservation. 🌿✨

Whether it’s a quiet moment, a supportive conversation, or simply remembering to breathe, your well‑being matters.

You deserve care, peace, and space to grow.

Biden-Appointed Judge Rejects Trump’s New Birthright Citizenship Order

September 02, 2026

"A federal judge on Wednesday blocked the Trump administration from enforcing its latest attempt to restrict birthright citizenship, ruling that the White House cannot deny citizenship to a class of children whom the Supreme Court has already determined are Americans at birth.

In a sharply worded opinion, U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman, an appointee of President Joe Biden, said the administration's new executive order conflicts with a recent Supreme Court decision that said that children born in the United States to parents who are unlawfully or temporarily present in the country are protected by the Fourteenth Amendment's Citizenship Clause."

"The Trump administration is considering a new passport requirement that could require parents to provide proof of their own U.S. citizenship or immigration status when applying for passports for their children, according to Reuters.

If implemented, the proposal would mark a significant change in how the State Department processes some passport applications and comes as President Donald Trump continues his attempts to narrow access to birthright citizenship"

Under the potential policy, parents could be asked to submit documents such as passports or birth certificates.
