‼️IMPORTANT UPDATE‼️

Sponsoring a family member for a green card? There’s an important update you need to know.

Starting August 31, 2026, USCIS began requiring an updated Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, for certain family-based green card cases.

The updated form includes new requirements regarding the financial information sponsors may authorize USCIS to obtain and consider when evaluating their ability to financially support the intending immigrant.

If you’re sponsoring a family member for a green card, make sure you’re using the correct version of Form I-864 and understand the updated requirements before filing.

What happens if your Green Card application is denied?

Receiving a Green Card denial can be stressful, but it does not always mean that your immigration journey is over.

The first step is to understand why USCIS denied the application. Depending on the circumstances, there may be options such as filing a motion, appealing the decision when available, or submitting a new application after addressing the underlying issue.

The right next step depends on the reason for the denial, your immigration category, and your individual circumstances.

If your Green Card application was denied, don’t assume you have no options.

Let’s evaluate your situation. Contact us today at 703-348-1663.
