Day 1 of the 4th National Prosecutorial AI & Data Summit is underway at the Urban Institute in Washington, D.C. This morning's sessions brought together prosecutors, researchers, and data professionals from across the country to tackle the hard questions around responsible AI governance, prosecutorial decision-making, and data-driven leadership.

We're grateful to our partners at the Urban Institute, Microsoft, and the Arlington County & Falls Church Commonwealth's Attorney's Office — and to the many prosecutors' offices represented here today for bringing real-world expertise to these conversations.

We are in Atlanta this week for The South & The Next 250: Building a Future We're Proud Of — a powerful two-day convening co-hosted by The Just Trust and The Marshall Project bringing together justice advocates, researchers, and community leaders to reimagine what the next chapter of the American South can look like.

From opening remarks to panel discussions on the frontlines of criminal justice reform — including a special screening of Crime and Punishment in America (Skiff Mountain Films) followed by a conversation with filmmaker Lynn Novick, moderated by Josie Duffy Rice — the conversations were urgent, necessary, and full of hope.
