The WDC properties are located in the middle of it all: right in the heart of DC. We have many places to visit in our area, making sightseeing a fun and worthwhile time. One of the things that you should make sure to add to your list of attractions when staying in DC is the White House.
We are just three blocks from the Capitol. The White House is a deeply historic structure, and a visit to it should be on everyone’s bucket list. You can make a public tour request through one’s Member of Congress. Self-guided tours are available from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, excluding federal holidays or unless otherwise noted. For smaller groups of fewer than members, you can request to join a tour.
If you’re going to be interning in the DC area, stay with WDC. We house students and interns working in the area. We are in walking distance from many of the biggest sightseeing attractions in the area, and many places where interns and students are working are right outside our front door.

If you’re beginning a new adventure of interning in the DC area, you may feel a little overwhelmed. You’ll be learning and working in one of the most culturally and politically charged parts of the country, with influence all around. It’s important to take some stress out of the whole experience. You can do this by taking the load off of where you’re going to live. Staying in one of the WDC properties, you will reside with fellow WDC student interns from all over the country and even the world. Having a sense of commonality and familiarity with people in the same situation as you will help you not only take stress out of the whole situation, but gives you the ability to make friends and learn more about the industry you’re getting into.
