Today we had the honor of attending the SBA Lender Awards, where we accepted our 10th consecutive 'Rhode Island Certified Development Company of the Year' award!

These awards would not be possible without our Customers, Board Members, Partner Banks, and Closing Attorneys.

It was a great year for us at Ocean State Business Development, and we're looking forward to helping even more small businesses in our community in 2026 and beyond!

We recently attended the SBA Lender Awards where we accepted our 9th consecutive 'Rhode Island Certified Development Company of the Year' award!

It was another great year for us, spent helping small businesses in Rhode Island, as well as Massachusetts and Connecticut, get access to the capital that they need.

This award would not be possible without our amazing Customers, Partner Banks, Board Members, and Closing Attorneys.

Additionally, thank you to the U.S. Small Business Administration Rhode Island District Office and SCORE Rhode Island for hosting the event, and to our Board Members and Closing Attorneys for attending the ceremony alongside us.

We are looking forward to what this new year has in store!

Last week, we were invited to attend the ground breaking ceremony for Darling Development Corporation at the soon-to-be Black Goose Market Place located at 928 Fall River Avenue in Seekonk, MA.

Ocean State Business Development assisted the Borrower with obtaining financing for the TownPlace Suites Hotel which is to be built.

The plaza will also feature a Whole Foods Market, and a variety of other retailers. We are excited to be a part of this project which will bring economic development, and enhance the town of Seekonk!

Ocean State Business Development would like to extend our congratulations to the newly-retired Rhode Island SBA District Director, Mark Hayward!

Mark had a rewarding and successful career within the small business community, as he dedicated nearly 30 years to being the Rhode Island District Director.

He has impacted countless individuals and businesses along the way, and we thank him for all he has done for Rhode Island Small Business!

We wish him the very best in this next chapter, enjoy retirement Mark!

We had another incredible year- approving over $19,000,000+ in loans to small businesses. This resulted in OSBDA doing more SBA Lending than another other financial institution in the state of Rhode Island!
