As many of you know, I have made the difficult decision to retire. Except for a few remaining court dates the Office is now closed. I will continue to represent existing pending cases.

Thanks to all of my friends, family and clients for all your support these past 43 plus years of practice. It was a bumpy road at times but with all of your help and the clients trust in me we made it through!

I do not know what the future will hold but I hope to be of use in some positive ways. I have been honored to be a part of the Middle Georgia legal community these many years and I like to think I did myself proud.

And thank you Barbara Kenerly, Katie Gibson and Micheal S. Pemberton could literally have not done it without you!

Weirdly they show Kathleen Grantham Attorney as open!

In the economic and financial world we live in today almost all of us could be facing bankruptcy if we missed more than a couple of paychecks. Unfortunately, many of us are in that situation now. We are living in stressful times. Our health, our finances, our security is being threaten. It is easy to become overwhelmed. Don't become discouraged. Even though our office is not scheduling face to face appointments we are still available by phone. Give our office a call, maybe we can provide you some answers to your financial situations. You still have options, you still have ways to make your finances work.

This world, this country, this state is changing. It is hard to keep up with what we should and should not be doing since things are constantly being changed. The one thing that hasn't changed is our commitment to our clients. We want to protect not just their legal rights but we also want to protect them, as much as possible. Due to the Covid-19 virus and the seriousness of this pandemic we are changing some of our office procedures. We are asking that all communication be by telephone, email, regular mail or even drop us a note through the mail slot in the front door and we will respond. Our staff will be in the office, on a rotating basis, to handle calls and emails. Our office doors will not be unlocked during regular business hours and there will be no face-to-face conversations. But that does not mean we are not there for you. These procedures are temporary. We care for you, we care for our employees and we want to protect everyone as much as possible. We encourage all of you that can, stay home. We are only a phone call away and will be happy to hear from you. For those of you that are not yet our clients, you can call or email us. Things are getting scary in this world right now, we are the little corner of security you may be needing. Stay safe, stay home, and call/email us if you need to.

Here at Grantham Law Office your health is important to us. As it is important to the ones you love, your family, your friends and your coworkers. We want to do everything we can to work with you and to keep you informed. We will not use our website to pass along any advice as to your medical well-being. However, we have found that there is a basket full of misinformation concerning your financial well-being. We want you to be well informed and to make good, sound choices. Therefore we will be, from time to time, trying to clear up some of the misconceptions that are flying around.

A good one to start with is the statement that the government has stopped all foreclosures. This is not true. The government has postponed foreclosures on HUD loans, and only HUD loans. These foreclosures on HUD loans are being pushed back to a later date, they are not being stopped forever. When all the dust settles, when people begin thinking rationally, when this pandemic is done, the foreclosures will begin again. The first ones that will happen will be the ones that were "put off" during this period of time. If your house is in the process of foreclosure, whether it be a HUD loan or a conventional loan, now is the time to seek counsel. To find out what your options are and what would be the best course of action for you to take. You need this information. You need this for your financial well-being. The more time you have to work out a solution the better that solution will be for you.

We encourage your to call our office and set an appointment to speak with Kathy. Use her 40 years of legal experience to guide through all of the rumors and misinformation, to explain to you what you can do, what course of action she would recommend. And remember, there is no charge for you to come in and talk with us.
