Thomas Genova has been practicing law for approximately thirty-five (35) years. He has concentrated in bankruptcy and reorganization cases as an attorney for debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, and as a Chapter 7 Private Panel Trustee since 1986. He was a lecturer in Business Law at Marist College from 1985 to 1991.
He has been a speaker for various professional groups to include The New York State Bar Association Programs on Bankruptcy, The Eighth Annual Bankruptcy Law Symposium, Hudson Valley Bankruptcy Bar Association, The National business Institute Programs [Successful Creditor Strategies, Bankruptcy, Basic Bankruptcy in New York, Foreclosure and Repossession, Fundamentals of Bankruptcy Law] and other professional organizations. He belongs to numerous member associations to include the New York State Bar Association, Dutchess County Bar Association, National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, Hudson Valley Bankruptcy Bar Association (First President, 1990-1991). Representative cases included InRe: Nutri Bevco, Inc., In Re: Lawrence and Julie Salander, In Re: Orange County Iron Works, Inc.
