This man right here!!! He is the reason I practice special needs, special education, and elder law. When I got to law school, my Wills, Trusts, and Estates professor was a special needs attorney. She spoke passionately about the specific estate planning and public benefit protection needs of people who are living with special needs (and their families). I didn’t know there was a whole area of law just for people like Sutton. The heavens opened and the angels sang. This was what I was supposed to be doing. I’d been training for this my whole life (he lived next door my whole childhood). Rest easy, Sutton. I have the watch.

Attorneys welcome good discussion about case strategy. But that discussion with your attorney is CONFIDENTIAL! Apparently, clients are putting letters, emails, and case documents into AI (think “ChatGPT”) to doublecheck their attorney’s case strategy. PLEASE DON’T. The moment any information about your case is uploaded to AI, YOU COMPLETELY LOSE CONFIDENTIALITY and the opposing side can subpoena all of it, even previously confidential letters and emails between you and your lawyer. JUST DON’T!
