A lot of jobs sound easier on the body than they really are.

A computer tech lifts equipment and crawls under desks. A restaurant manager carries supplies, busses tables, and does the physical work nobody sees.

That’s why, when someone calls us about a work injury, we look at what the job actually required your body to do.

How much lifting was involved? How often were you in and out of a truck? Were you covering for someone else? What changed when the pain started?

That’s how you show what the job was really doing to your body, and why the injury should be taken seriously.

A title can sound like one kind of job. The actual work can tell a very different story.

"Computer tech” sounds like somebody sitting at a desk.

“Shift supervisor” sounds like somebody who observes people at work.

“Restaurant manager” sounds like somebody greeting people or managing payroll.

What you do for actual work does.

A computer tech may spend the day lifting equipment and crawling under desks.

A shift supervisor at an Amazon warehouse could walk as many as 30,000 steps in one shift.

A restaurant manager may end up doing all the physical work when somebody doesn’t show.

That’s how people get hurt in jobs that don’t sound physical until you look at what they actually do.
