Do you have an old criminal charge on your record that is holding you back in your job search, or is a source of embarrassment when it’s time for your volunteer group’s CORI check? There is a process in Massachusetts for many old criminal record entries to be sealed from public access and knowledge. Depending on the nature of the entry on your record, you may be able to apply directly to the state of MA to request sealing, in other circumstances your best bet may be filing a petition to seal at the court where the prior charges were brought, and litigating the issue before a judge.

If entries on your record are sealed, you are permitted by law to answer on employment, housing, and other applications that you have no prior record of court appearances or arrests. I have experience and a record of success in addressing these matters in court, and I may be able to help you too.
