Please join us in celebrating Partner Lance Stewart’s 10th Anniversary with Angius & Terry! 🎉 We thank you for your hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment—here’s to many more years of success! To celebrate this milestone, let’s take a moment to get to know Lance!

Lance was born in a Civil War-era naval hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia, during a hurricane. Currently, he lives in a home in Concord with his family.

Lance tended to move a lot when he was growing up, and he continued the trend into his adulthood. If Virginia was the state of his birth, then Pennsylvania was the state of his childhood; Georgia was adolescence, high school, college, and his first real job; and Massachusetts was law school, with detours to Wisconsin and Washington, D.C. for internships.

It was about midway through law school that Lance met his future wife. A year or so later – at a point when he was trying to make plans for after graduation, and applying to jobs all over the country – she was planning her return to her home state of California. Suddenly, California seemed as good a place as any – okay, a better place than any – for Lance to hang his hat.

Lance voluntarily took what’s often considered one of the most difficult bar exams in the country and moved across the country just so he could be with her. After several months of living on opposite ends of the state, they worked things out to be in the same city – and they’ve been together ever since.

Here are a few extra fun facts!

Played drums in a handful of different bands in college, including the occasional club gig!

Was a theatre major in college for a time, including roles in several plays!

Never considered law school until his late 20s.

Worked in a restaurant for 5 years – started out as a dishwasher, and left as a de facto General Manager.

Played baseball, basketball, soccer, and junior wrestling in elementary school.

Today we are honored to celebrate an incredible milestone — Teresa N Scott Gordon has been with Angius & Terry for 30 years! For three decades, Teresa has been a cornerstone of our firm, serving as a Senior Paralegal with unmatched experience, dedication, and integrity. Her contributions have shaped our success and inspired everyone around her. Teresa’s legacy of dedication extends beyond our firm, including her contribution to the creation of the CAI Nor‑Cal Chapter’s first membership directory. Congratulations, Teresa, on 30 years of excellence. We are so fortunate to have you on our team!

Beyond her impressive career, here are a few fun facts to help everyone get to know Teresa a little better:

Teresa recently returned from a three-week trip to Italy. She was ecstatic to see the architecture and art, as she studied two semesters of Art History in college. She ate Bistecca alla Fiorentina and biked her way through the vineyards of Tuscany!

Her hobbies include a love of cooking, canning, gardening, birdwatching, and photography; as evidenced by the thousands of photos of plants and birds in her cloud. Beyond that, she has been doing CrossFit for 15 years and has a fantastic community of people she works out with Monday through Friday. "If I skip class, they hold me accountable! Our group has become great friends and gets together for special events outside of the gym, usually centered around food!"

When asked when she is the happiest, Teresa responded, "I love Sunday morning with my cup of coffee, watching the Food Network and/or HGTV, and planning out my day with my husband. A typical Sunday will involve us going food shopping for the week, taking a long walk to lunch with our Rhodesian Ridgeback Kacy, and typically ends with a “Hampton Hour” with our neighbors, dinner we cook together, and then a Taylor Sheridan show like Landman or Tulsa King."
