Minnesota District Courts have been untangling marriages since 1849—that’s 176 years of “it’s not you, it’s… definitely you.”

Let’s hope spousal maintenance isn’t still a hot topic… we kid, we kid. 😉

But seriously: since 1974, Minnesota’s been a no-fault divorce state.
Translation: you don’t need a dramatic reason to split—“irreconcilable differences” covers it.

👋 taking a quick minute away from motions and affidavits this morning to say hi.

Things are really stressful for everyone right now. The world is a crazy place to be. Please remember to take a couple minutes for yourself every day, even if that couple minutes is hiding in a closet because that is the best quiet place you can find.

Other ideas:
💆‍♀️Pause. Breathe slowly.
🧘‍♀️Sit criss-cross-applesauce on the floor and rock back and forth with your eyes closed.
🍫Eat a chocolate bar.
🫧Chew six pieces of gum at once and blow the biggest bubbles you can, or make the most obnoxious bubble snapping sounds then laugh at how juvenile it is.
📝Grab paper & set a timer for 3 minutes and then just write whatever comes to mind.
😂Find a person that makes you laugh, and laugh like you haven’t laughed in a long time.
🎸Jam out to music from a favorite period of your life.

And don’t forget:

👏We would like to thank the members of the Sartell Police Department (Sartell Public Safety), especially Public Service Specialist Kelly, Sgt. Rooda, Sgt. Gray, and Ofc. Batterberry, for their aid in handling the ex*****on of a recent court order handed down as the result of our client's victory following their custody trial.

The officers handled a very tricky situation with an unstable custodial parent with amazing grace and care, helping to extract the kids and placing them safely in our client's care with minimal drama.

✨They gladly coordinated with our office throughout, and we were thrilled to have such a fantastic experience working with them. ✨
