✈️ Tourist visas and CBP-limited stays - Recently, after reviewing a visitor’s recent U.S. entries, the officer limited the stay to less than a month rather than the usual 6 months allowed on a B1/B2 visa. CBP officers have discretion to review an entering visitor’s recent travel and limit his or her stay if the officer suspects that visitor is here for a different purpose other than vacation or short term business, or has entered numerous times or for extended period in recent months. What can be done? Apply online to USCIS to extend the stay (Form I-539) or apply to adjust status to a visa that is a better fit for the length and purpose of your visit.
