Julia Jurgensen, a long-time partner at the firm, spent the first half of her career practicing primarily in the area of civil litigation and construction law. Since mid-2025, she has transitioned to a new role within the firm, focusing on strategic direction and firm management.

Throughout her career, Jurgensen has remained closely connected to the firm and is now taking on a broader leadership role that reflects her deep understanding of the firm’s culture, values and long-term goals.

In this new role, Jurgensen will work closely with firm President Sam Hays and other members of the leadership team to support the firm’s ongoing growth and long-term planning, helping ensure its continued excellence in serving clients and the community.

Jurgensen is the daughter of Rick Brophy, a founder and longtime President of the firm, who continues to actively practice law and remains a key part of Beard Kultgen’s leadership and legal team. Sam Hays has served as the firm’s President since early 2025.

We loved seeing one of our attorneys, McKenzie McEntyre, return to Baylor Law School this week as part of the Summer Quarter Orientation Alumni Panel.

McKenzie had the opportunity to speak with incoming students about her experience at Baylor Law, the transition into practice, and what life looks like as a young attorney building a career in Waco. We are proud to have her representing Beard Kultgen and taking time to encourage students as they begin law school.
