Did a home inspection for a really nice guy today. I walked through the home and went over everything with him when I was finished. We were in the basement and he asked where I thought was the best place to get during a storm. It was a poured concrete foundation and there was a good area in the basement I suggested. He then told me he was in the recent tornado in Fultondale. I stuck my foot in my mouth and ask was his house damaged. He had lost everything, but his family was unhurt. He showed me pictures and it was shocking that his family wasn't all killed. I typically finish with getting the payment, but there's no way I was chanrging him anything. He insisted on paying me and I insisted more that he wasn't. I won. It's nice to be in a position to be able to help someone else, even just a little, considering what he had lost.
