Investing in future generations is one of our favorite ways to support local CT communities! 🎓

Recently, KKC Partner Matt Willis, who serves on the Executive Committee of the Coventry Scholarship Foundation Dollars for Scholars, assisted in fundraising and awarding over $96,000 to graduating seniors from Coventry High School. Since 1992, this organization has awarded more than $1,000,000 to local students through community-based fundraising.

Everyone needs a will.

But what happens if you pass before you have the chance to put one in place?

A common misconception is that the state will take your property.

In reality, the Laws of Intestacy are designed to prevent this. In Connecticut, the state follows a legal order to locate your closest next of kin and distribute your assets, even if that means extended family members.

But remember: intestacy laws don’t account for personal wishes, unmarried partners, or unique family dynamics, which is why having a will in place is still so important!

This month, we’re honored to support the Candice Corcione Memorial Fund.

For those who may not know, Candice Corcione was the Executive Director of the
Tolland County Chamber of Commerce - TCCC and a deeply valued member of our community. Following her recent passing, this fund was established to carry on her legacy by supporting local nonprofit agencies and scholarships. 🤍
