Back in the 1920s, Flint Lake was the kind of place where Chicago’s well-to-do could escape the city for a little peace, quiet and lake life.

And according to local lore, they weren’t the only Chicagoans who knew about this part of Northwest Indiana. Stories of bootleggers, the Chicago Outfit and even names like Al Capone have swirled around the area for generations.

Were they really hiding out around Flint Lake? Running booze through the area?

We’ll leave that one to the historians. 😉
