The Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, Inc. offices will be closed on Thursday, July 30, so our team can participate in a staff team-building and employee appreciation event.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, our nation was founded on the principle that everyone should have the chance to build a life of dignity and opportunity. In his 1989 farewell address, President Reagan spoke about this idea, saying America is the one place where anyone, from anywhere, can simply become an American.

At the Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, we see this promise tested every day in housing court, disability hearings, and family law cases across our 13 counties. By making sure working to ensure access to justice, we help turn that promise into reality. This has been our work for more than 74 years.

As we celebrate America's 250th birthday, we are proud to continue supporting the families who are striving to write their own American story.

Holiday hours: Our Watertown, Oswego, and Syracuse offices are closed on July 2. Utica, Oneonta, and Binghamton are open until 3 PM on July 2. All offices are closed on July 3. We return to normal hours at 9 AM on July 6.

Twelve attorneys, one phone number, and 180 calls answered.

For the third year in a row, LASMNY hosted the Oneida County Bar Association's annual LegalLine last night. People from across the area called in to get free, one-on-one information from a local attorney.

We caught LegalLine Coordinator Philip Fortino in action, taking a call. Thank you to all the volunteers who joined us, including LASMNY Board President Matthew Skinner, recently retired ED Paul Lupia, and our team members Cindy Domingue-Hendrickson, Johanna Bortnick, and Christina Reilly.

When the bar comes together, our community gets the help it needs.

LASMNY staff were at the CCC Auburn Wellness Fair today. Susan and Emilee talked to students and community members about their rights and the free legal help available to them. From DV resources to referrals, our team was ready. Proud of the work happening every day across our 13-county region.
