Every year we take a break during the holidays for all of us to recharge for the new year! This year, Christmas falls in the middle of the week. We will be CLOSING at NOON on Christmas Eve, and will be CLOSED on

No one will be in the office that weekend.

Addie will be in hearings on Monday 12/30/2024.

We will then be CLOSED on Tuesday 12/31/2024 and Wednesday 01/01/2025.

The office will reopen on Thursday January 2, 2025.

We will be monitoring voicemails and emails for emergencies. If your message is not an emergency, we will respond when we return.

Getting ready for the holiday?

Remember courts will be closed Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday next week. Some are closing early on Wednesday!

That means…if you get in trouble you gotta wait until at least the next Monday to see the judge!

(We will also be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Happy Thanksgiving!)

Yes, the Champaign County Common Pleas court had an electrical fire in the basement last Thursday afternoon.

Yes, they closed the building on Friday to ensure that the problem has been fixed.

YES they will be open on Monday. If you have a hearing scheduled, PLEASE be at the courthouse on time. They will be expecting to see you and the fire will not be a valid reason to miss court.

No there is no device to mess with the timeline in our counties. We send reminder letters of hearing dates. If you’re unsure when you are supposed to appear for court and you’re a client of ours, please call the office to verify the date and time of where you are supposed to appear!

We now do Appeals! If you are still within time to file an appeal, give us a call! We are doing court appointed and private hire appeals for civil and criminal cases. We still reserve the right to refer you elsewhere if it is an appeal on a type of law we are not familiar with, but come talk to us to see if we could be a good fit!

Champaign and Logan counties are both under Level 2 snow emergencies.

Our office is CLOSED today 12/23/2022 due to inclement weather. We do not have any remaining scheduled hearings today. If you have a phone conference scheduled with Addie, she will still be calling for those phone conferences as previously scheduled, but will be working from home, so you will see a different number when she calls.

Our office DOES traditionally close between Christmas and New Years every year to give our staff time to spend with their families at the holidays. We are doing that this year as well. Therefore, we will be CLOSED until January 3, 2023, although some staff may come in on January 2, 2023 for a couple of already existing appointments and prep for the coming week.

We will still be monitoring email and phone messages from the office remotely. Staff who are still in town will be picking up mail. Emergency calls will be returned as soon as we can; non-emergency calls will be returned when we reopen.

Logan and Champaign courthouses are both closed again today.

We are also closed. It's not worth having staff trying to get to the office. If you have a scheduled phone conference, I will be calling from home. If you have an office appointment, it will be rescheduled. Hearings will all be rescheduled once everyone is back in the office on Monday.

Stay safe. Stay warm.

Remember....do something silly and the judge isn't in until Monday...

Just got word. Logan County Ohio courthouses and offices are also closed.

Clark County Municipal Court and many government offices are closed.

I have not heard about other counties.

Almost every county we practice in is under at least a Level 1 snow emergency.

Our office is closed. We (attorney and staff) are doing some work from home, and will be monitoring emails. Our answering service will be taking calls and we will be returning calls mostly on an emergency basis/time sensitive basis for the rest of the day. Rest assured if you leave us a message we will get to it as soon as possible.

Champaign County Ohio Common Pleas Court and Municipal Court are officially CLOSED 2/3 and 2/4 due to winter weather.

Still waiting to hear on other counties. If you have court, pay attention to local closings, and when in doubt, call your lawyer.

Our office is closed until after the new year holiday weekend. We reopen on Monday January 3.

We will be checking emails and our answering service will be answering the phones, but non emergency calls may not be answered until after New Years.
