Dear drivers, especially those who aren’t used to being around horses, please don’t cut in front of a horse trailer just because you see a big gap. That space is there for a reason. We’re not driving slow for no reason, it’s because we need extra distance to stop safely.

Inside the trailer, horses have to balance with every curve and stop. If we brake hard or turn sharply, they can get hurt, or worse, the whole trailer could tip.

In the photo, you see a mare with barely any room to move, and her foal tucked right under her. She’s doing everything she can to stay steady and keep her baby safe. The only way I can help her is by driving carefully. So please, be patient and give us space. Most people don’t mean any harm, they just don’t realize.
