The Polk County Women Attorneys hosted a wicked fundraiser last week benefitting the Young Women's Resource Center (YWRC).

The YWRC does an amazing job empowering young women across Central Iowa, ages 10-24, helping them build strength, confidence, and resilience as they navigate life's challenges. We are proud to have played a part in supporting their mission.

We also want to give a special shout out to Associate Attorney Akosua Wiafe, whose dedication and contributions to both the fundraiser and the PCWA have not gone unnoticed. H&H had a wicked time and we're already looking forward to more PCWA events in the future!

We were honored to support the 2025 Cady Day of Public Service, a meaningful day dedicated to the legacy of the late Iowa Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Cady. To mark the occasion, our team organized a week-long personal hygiene and food drive.

Thanks to the generosity of our team, we were able to fully stock: Little Free Pantries at Drake University, the pet food and community pantries at Grace United Methodist Church in the Drake neighborhood, Franklin Public Library community pantry, and Community Youth Concepts pantry near Drake.

We’re proud to contribute to these vital resources supporting neighbors in need. Together, we can make a difference!

Last Friday, our Employment and Municipal team had the pleasure of hosting our bi-annual Employment Law Seminar at the Iowa State Bar Association!

This fall’s seminar featured a timely lineup of presentations, including:

Happy First Day of Fall!

H&H was proud to kick off the season a little early this past Saturday by sponsoring the Drake University Law School Business Law Society’s Annual Golf Tournament at Waveland Golf Course. It was a fantastic day filled with great weather, meaningful networking, friendly competition — and plenty of fun. We made sure everyone stayed energized with H&H snack bags to keep the momentum going on the course.

We’re always proud to support the next generation of legal professionals, and we’re looking forward to being back on campus soon for the C. Edwin Moore Competition!
