Can I be honest about something I see with the MPT?

A lot of people think:

“I just need to practice more.”

Sometimes.

But honestly? A lot of the time that is not the problem.

The problem is people do not have a process.

They read everything.

Treat every case as equally important.

Spend forever in the library.

Get overwhelmed.

Then wonder why they are rushing with 20 minutes left.

The frustrating part is many people actually know enough to do better. They just don’t know how to approach the thing.

That is one reason the MPT can improve pretty quickly once someone shows you what to do first, what matters, and what does not.

Tomorrow I’m teaching a copyright infringement client letter MPT.

But before I even talk about that, I’m curious:

What is YOUR biggest struggle with the MPT?

Timing?
Organization?
Not knowing where to start?
Running out of things to say?
Something else?

Since posting about the Civ Pro workshops this week, I’ve gotten a lot of versions of the same question:

“What makes this different from all the other bar prep stuff?”

Honestly?

Most people failing the bar exam do not need more information.

They need:
• a way to actually retain what they’re learning
• a way to apply it under pressure
• a structure they can consistently follow
• and a place to stop spiraling every time they get questions wrong

That’s why these sessions are live and practice-based.

Tonight is Civ Pro Essays.
Sunday is Civ Pro MBEs.

We’re not sitting around listening to lectures for hours pretending that equals learning.

We’re doing the work:
• breaking down highly tested issues
• learning how to organize answers
• working through MBE traps mechanically
• figuring out why answers are wrong
• and building repeatable processes you can actually use on exam day

A lot of people in these sessions are repeat takers.

Not because they’re incapable.

Usually because nobody ever taught them how to study for this exam in a way that transfers to test day performance.

That’s the gap I’m trying to close.

A bad practice set can mess with your head for hours if you let it. Review it, learn from it, and keep moving.

Just a thought: If your essays feel messy, start using headers. Your grader should never have to search for your analysis.
