A huge big thank you to all my kids and family and extended in helping me get thru Covid ( I avoided for 4 yrs) Going to be a bit of a longer recovery. I can’t say enough about the countless check ins, medical and food supplies and of course, Raquel’s Tokyo Drift drive in the mini van to get me to university of Cincinnati when I couldn’t breathe and spending the night with me in the hospital. Thank you thank you thank you to everyone.. my gym friends, work colleagues, my Brianza family who kept encouraging me. Been a very scary taxing several weeks. My new motto in this year is to kick Covid out the door in 2024!!!

I have so much more to do!!!

This marks the end of LABG's Pro Bono Week celebration. We would like to thank all of the volunteer attorneys throughout our service area for their continued support of our mission!

For our final spotlight, we are recognizing Colleen Hegge of Law Office Of Colleen Hegge! Colleen has been providing legal services in Northern Kentucky for over 30 years. Read below for her full statement on why pro bono work is important to her:

“In a to***co field is where I learned the meaning of hard work. Setting, hoeing, cutting, hanging and stripping to***co along with all the other farm work, gave me the appreciation of time well spent. This work helped me pay for my law school. Along the way, my parents infused the rule to give back to our farming community…help a neighbor bale hay, share your garden harvest, make a dinner for the couple down the road and many other simple ways to give. Then I was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, an incurable muscle nerve disease. This taught me was that life is short and all you really have is your health and family. Some people do not even have that. Giving back time and talent with my legal service is a small way I can give to my community. It is so satisfying when you help a person who needs that hand and pass along some hope. Maybe then l made a difference. And that is why I do what I do for the love of the law.”
