Friday Loop: Ukiah to Philo over Greenwood Road to Elk and then Mendocino, through Fort Bragg and back to Ukiah. Gorgeous out today, lots of deer on the roads (be careful!) and met some people with great stories, beautiful homes and birds eye views. I love what I do and the places I see! ❤️

PET LOVERS:
A farm supply store in Cloverdale is closing this week and they are offering items at cost. I'm going to stop by there and pick up items to donate to the Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County and Mendo Shelter Pets Rescue .

In the notary business, sometimes you see people at the happiest times of their life like when they're buying their first home, and sometimes you see them at the worst or scariest time when they're in the hospital and things aren't looking good, so the family is scrambling to complete the much-needed, stuff-we-put-off paperwork to make sure their family is taken care of and the wishes are laid out clearly. I'm doing a little of both today and recognizing the stark differences. Wherever you are today, I'm wishing you the merriest Christmas and gratitude for your referrals and patronage. xoxo. Dana

Today I was told that I was the worst notary ever because I couldn't notarize loan papers for a woman who had a COMPLETELY different first name on her property deed/loan documents than on her ID. She said no one in her entire life had ever questioned her and they have always accepted her nickname on her ID when her documents said a different name. What a shame that other notaries have continued to run the risk of losing their commission, being fined and maybe even going to jail by letting this angry lady slide and not do the right thing which is to decline and offer alternate protocols. I'm not losing my career, my home or my freedom for you to kick the problem down the road. I'm ethical and I know my responsibilities as a notary to be an official witness using satisfactory evidence that you are who you say you are. I am not the problem and I'm sorry you are frustrated. I am too. I blocked time out in my schedule, I printed out a ream of paper and drove to your home all for nothing. Shame, shame to all the ones that 'fudged it' before and made her think that is okay.
