STOP TELLING PEOPLE TO TAKE $200-$300 TO “GO GET AN LLC” LIKE IT’S SOME MAGIC CHEAT CODE TO FUNDING. IT IS NOT THAT EASY 🗣️🗣️
Since y’all love leaving out the REAL steps, let’s talk about what comes AFTER you get a LLC.
- You need to register your business properly so lenders see you as legit — not just a name on paper.
- You need a virtual business address unless you want the whole world Googling your home. (Costs money)
- You need business insurance. (Costs money)
- You need to publish your LLC (Costs money)
- You need to separate your business financially so it’s not tied to your personal life.
- TAXES. TAXES. TAXES. Owning an LLC costs money, even if you made no money. You STILL have to file.
- Let an LLC sit dormant? Enjoy the annual fees and penalties.
- Business loans? You’re not getting approved day 1.
- You need NET 30s/60s/90s
OR excellent personal credit OR established business credit… which takes TIME.
- You need bookkeeping. QuickBooks, Wave, something to track expenses for taxes. (Costs money)
- You CANNOT swipe your business card for personal stuff unless you can prove it was used FOR the business.
- You need to pay yourself properly — which means payroll taxes, payroll fees… (Costs money)
- You need a business bank account, and guess what? You need money to open it.
- You need a WEBSITE or invoices to prove where revenue is coming from because the IRS does NOT play.
- You need to set aside 20–30% for taxes — yes, even if you’re a “cash me out” entrepreneur.
- Banks look for consistent deposits & activity before lending you anything under your EIN.
AND THE BEST PART?
You actually need to have…A REAL BUSINESS. 😭
I’m not discouraging anyone — I’m EDUCATING you. Don’t let social media fool you into thinking an LLC is a shortcut if you’re not prepared for the responsibilities that come with it.
Sometimes the smartest move is to wait, grow your side hustle, stack your money, and THEN formalize it.
If this touched your soul, it probably needed to 🫰🏽
