Memorial Day is more than barbecues, beach days, or a long weekend away from work. It is a sacred reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Today, we pause to honor those heroes, reflect on the freedoms we so often take for granted, and remember the families who continue to carry their legacy each and every day.

This Memorial Day, and every day, may we never forget the cost of freedom. May we live with gratitude, humility, and honor in remembrance of those who gave everything so we could live freely. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

📰 VA HOSPITALS EARN RECORD-HIGH QUALITY RATINGS

For the fourth straight year, VA outperformed non-VA facilities in CMS star ratings, as 78% of VA hospitals that received a rating earned four or five stars. These results demonstrate VA's unwavering commitment to providing top-quality care for our Veterans.

Shout out to Supervisor Curt Hagman for supporting access to justice for veterans in the County of San Bernardino 🇺🇸

Earlier this week, Veterans Legal Institute joined Supervisor Curt Hagman’s office and community partners to announce an expanded effort to strengthen legal and supportive services for veterans throughout San Bernardino County. 🇺🇸

Through continued support from San Bernardino County, VLI is expanding access to pro bono legal assistance for low-income, disabled, unhoused, and at-risk veterans facing barriers to housing, healthcare, employment, and VA benefits.

The event brought together veterans, advocates, and community leaders committed to improving outcomes for those who served, while underscoring the importance of continued collaboration as VLI expands its work across the Inland Empire.

We were especially grateful to hear from U.S. Army veteran and DAV Chapter 12 board member Eric Bass, who shared his personal experience with VLI and spoke about the life-changing impact legal services can have for veterans and their families.

Thank you to Supervisor Hagman, Michael Miller, and their incredible staff, as well as supporters and partners including Antoinette Naddour, Lea Petersen, Commissioner Clint Miller, Matt Knox, Jose Mendoza, DAV Chapter 12, Ralph Figueroa, and the many others who joined us in support of this important work.
