CALIFORNIA FRIENDS — WHAT IF MOVING CHANGED MORE THAN YOUR HOUSE PAYMENT?

Housing prices get most of the attention when people compare California and Oklahoma, but taxes are another part of the equation.

For 2026, Oklahoma’s top marginal individual income-tax rate is 4.5%.

California’s regular state income-tax brackets reach 12.3%, and taxpayers with more than $1 million of taxable income can face an additional 1% state Mental Health Services Tax.

That does not mean everyone moving from California automatically saves 8.8% of their income—your actual tax bill depends on income, deductions, filing status and other factors.

But it does mean that when you're comparing where you want to live, build a business, retire or invest, Oklahoma deserves a serious look.

And taxes are only part of the story.

Some of you may have noticed we’ve been a little quiet lately… and that’s because we’ve been busy bringing another project to life.

We’re excited to finally share Ithaca, our newest furnished rental in Broken Arrow!

This property has been a true labor of love. What started as a standard house has been thoughtfully transformed into something we believe is really special. Crafted as a private retreat designed for traveling professionals, medical staff, relocating families, and anyone looking for a comfortable extended stay.

From the private pool and fully fenced backyard to the dedicated wellness room featuring a sauna, red light therapy, yoga space, and meditation area, every detail was intentionally selected to create a place where guests can truly relax and recharge.

Like every project we take on, this one came with its share of challenges, late nights, unexpected surprises, and plenty of sweat equity. But seeing the finished product reminds us why we love what we do.

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built together and grateful for everyone who has supported us along the way.
