This Black History Month, as a Black woman owned law firm, we have to look at the people who paved the way for us.

One of those trailblazers is Charlotte E. Ray, who in 1872 became the first Black woman in the United States to graduate from law school and practice law. At a time when both women and Black Americans were systematically excluded from the legal profession, she stepped forward anyway.

Her courage and determination helped open doors that had long been closed. Because of women like her, Black women attorneys today are able to stand in courtrooms, lead firms, and serve their communities with strength and excellence.

We are proud to continue that legacy through our commitment to justice, advocacy, and service.

Winter Pet Safety Alert!
Keeping our furry friends safe and warm is essential as the forecast changes this week! 💙

If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for your pets! When temperatures drop below 25 degrees, make sure to bring your pets inside, as this is enforceable by ordinance.

Ensure they have access to warmth and plenty of water.

🐕Tips to Keep Your Pets Safe
1. Bring Them Inside: Never leave pets outside in extreme cold for too long.
2. Add Layers: Short-haired pets love a cozy sweater or coat.
3. Protect Their Paws: Use booties or wipe paws after walks to prevent injuries from ice and salt.
4. Check Their Shelter: If they're outside, ensure they have an insulated, warm space filled with straw.
5. Extra Fuel: Cold weather requires more energy. Give them a little extra food and ensure they have access to unfrozen water!
