On Juneteenth, we celebrate the noble pursuit of rising up for the cause of freedom and breaking the chains that bind us. Today's holiday commemorates the day in US history when 250,000 slaves in Texas were officially declared free, thus designating the end of slavery in the United States. As we reflect upon the ongoing struggle for equality, justice, and freedom for all in our great country, we celebrate the progress we've achieved but acknowledge that there is still more work to be done. May we all join together in the fight to tear down that which divides us, and always strive to elevate our nation to its promise of liberty and justice for all.

Earlier this week, we were excited to attend and support the Chamber Fayetteville's Women of All Generations Event. The annual gathering features a panel discussion, networking opportunity, marketplace, and awards presentation, all centered on bringing together women professionals and community builders across generations and industries. Today marks the 31st anniversary of the day Oklahoma was changed forever. We remember the lives of the 168 people who perished in the April 19th Oklahoma City bombing and we honor the heroic rescue efforts of the many firefighters, police, and military service members who rushed in to help that day. May today and everyday we all recommit ourselves to working together as Americans "to purge ourselves of the dark forces which gave rise to this evil, (for) they are forces that threaten our common peace, our freedom, our way of life."

The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas' 2026 Northwest Arkansas Methodist Lawyers Conference. Kerri discussed employment law issues that impact local churches and Todd Lewis spoke on a panel about church adoptions and mergers. The conference took place at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, where Todd Lewis serves as Council President.
