I got hired on a case a week or two ago. From what the client told me, it sounded like a defensible case. One problem: I got the police reports today and the client made a statement to the police.

We don't make statements to the police on Columbus Day. We don't make statements to the police on Christmas Day. We don't make statements to the police on Veteran's Day. We don't make statements to the police on a Saturday. We don't make statements to the police on a Wednesday. We don't make statements to the police in the day time. We don't make statements to the police in the night time. We don't make statements to the police at dawn. We don't make statements to the police at sundown. We don't make statements to the police in a house, in a box, in a car, in a tree, on a train, in the dark, in the rain, on a boat, or with animals like a mouse, a fox, or a goat.

Believe it or not, when I say we don't make statements to the police, we literally don't make statements the police at anytime or at any place at all.

What do we say to the police: "I am not answering any questions and I want to talk to a lawyer." And if the police are not asking any questions on the ride to jail: We just sit quietly in the police car and say nothing at all.

I have noticed in the past 5 to 10 years prostitution is not called prostitution anymore. It is called human trafficking. Meanwhile in most counties in Nevada, prostitution is legal. In many countries in Europe prostitution is legal. In Amsterdam, you can walk through the red light district where the girls display themselves in the windows. And it is all perfectly legal.

Happy Native American Day and Columbus Day to those that got the day off. I got screwed because Tulsa County was open today and Creek Nation was open as well. Bogus!

And I can’t mail out Christmas ornaments today because the Post Office is closed. Double Bogus!

IMPORTANT NOTICE

A week or two ago, I ran out of boxes to mail my fabulous and super-great Christmas ornaments. There are about 5 people still waiting to receive their ornament. I bought more boxes yesterday and packaged up the remaining orders. Accordingly, if you are still waiting for one, it will be in the mail Monday or Tuesday.
