On this day, many years ago, I flew from Seoul to the United States to be with my family! Every March 24th since this day, my family has celebrated my “Plane Day.” It is a hugely important day for my family, just like any family’s “adoption day” or “gotcha day.” We would also celebrate it each year in my classes growing up to help teach my classmates about adoption. I also have a picture from my own actual adoption day too! 🤍

“Talent is universal, but opportunity is not.” I’m so happy to have had the chance to learn about the ways United Way and Women United are working together, with Tucson business leaders to discuss the importance of creating access to education and affordable childcare opportunities. Their initiatives are building and strengthening our southern Arizona families, allowing for pathways for long-term success for our children. Last week included one of the best days of the year. National Adoption Day! It was beautiful with decorated courtrooms where the court staff turned into mermaids Under the Sea and magicians in a Carnival, welcoming those kiddos to their special day. Congratulations to the families who were able to give these children a safe, secure, forever homes. Thank you to all who made this day so bright, special, and memorable. 🩷

Today is my sister’s Plane Day! On this day, many, many years ago, my parents flew from a China orphanage to bring her home to the United States. Happy Plane Day to her and Happy Gotcha/Adoption Day to everyone else who celebated today!💗
