Southern Arizona Home Builders Association SAHBA advocates for public policies and develops activities and services that further the home construction industry. The population boomed.

These increase housing opportunity and choice in Tucson and Southern Arizona. After World War II, Tucson became a highly desirable place to live. Demand for homes attracted construction companies from outside of South

ern Arizona. That was concern to some local builders, as was the practice of some home building projects using non-union labor. Wilson and the other SAHBA founders felt they needed a strong, unified voice at the city, county and state level. Their efforts not only created that voice, but established a strong, active organization that serves the community. Since 1952, SAHBA members have helped Tucson grow and thrive by providing opportunities to own a home. See how we’ve built communities over the years.

SAHBA Chairwoman Anjela Salyer recently joined an invitation-only roundtable hosted by Congressman Ciscomani with U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner. Community leaders had the opportunity to discuss key housing priorities and hear updates on federal housing efforts. Another example of SAHBA advocating for our members and the future of housing in Southern Arizona.
