The Troy Police Department is again looking for sponsors to help residents in need during the upcoming holiday season. Sponsors can contribute by “adopting a family” or making a donation of cash or grocery store gift cards (Target, Walmart, Kroger, Meijer, etc.). Recipient families or individuals are provided with holiday gifts, delivered via “blue sleigh” by officers and volunteers prior to Christmas.

Program recipients include struggling families and other Troy residents in financial need.

Monetary donations can be made in the form of a check made out to Troy Police Department. Checks can be dropped off at the Police Department, 500 W. Big Beaver Road.

The Department is now matching sponsors and families in need. Those wishing to contribute should contact Officer Greg Pokley, [email protected], 248.680.7223.

This busy fall, our founding partner Orlando L. Blanco is taking part in an all-day presentation with Oakway Fire Chiefs, in association with 8 Municipal Fire Departments in Oakland County.

Mr. Blanco will present on: Documentation Pitfalls for EMS,
Patient Care Refusals & Destination, Intersectional Crashes and the Right of Way, and both Incident Management and The Changing Legal Landscape for EMS.

In honor of our partner and attorney Derek S. Wilczynski‘s late father, Gordon “Gordie” Francis Wilczynski, we share this article from the Macomb Daily, honoring the profound effect he had on anyone who met him.

Longtime newspaper reporter and coach Gordon “Gordie” Francis Wilczynski died Monday. The Shelby Township resident was 81.
