Seeking experienced Real Estate/Probate Paralegal (min. 3 yrs.)
We are seeking an experienced Real Estate/Probate Paralegal to join our team. We’re a tight-knit crew that consistently provides quality services to our clients. Responsibilities:
1. Conduct title search to prepare a title abstract and title opinion
2. Examine deeds, maps, liens, judgments, leases, agreements, public records, contracts, surveys, and plat books to verify legal description, ownership, and restrictions
3. Issue title policy and transfer title ownership after reviewing all closing documents to ensure title commitments have been satisfied and preparing a closing statement
4. Work alongside a variety of industry professionals such as real estate agents, title insurance agents, escrow officers, closing agents, settlement agents, law firms, paralegals, and escrow companies throughout the closing process
5. Ensure all legal documents at the county, state and federal level have been recorded and present deed to new owners
6. Trust estate administration (i.e. notice to beneficiaries, obtaining EINs, etc.)
Proficient in the preparation of probate petitions, notices, publications, accountings, and affidavits
7. Collect, value, and transfer assets to beneficiaries, facilitating formula distributions to marital and exemption trusts.
8. Produce formal and informal summaries, accountings, and status reports.
9. Assist in gathering information for fiduciary income tax returns for estates and trusts.
10. Process statements, receipts, and distributions for estate and trust accounts.
11. Experience with title searches, preparation of and recordation of deeds
12. RLT/ILT work (opening/overseeing RLT/ILT accounts, paying premiums, notices, etc.)
13. Experience in entity formation and maintenance a plus.
14. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously to complete tasks accurately, on schedule and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
15. Strong detail orientation
16. Excellent writing, research, proofreading skills
17. Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
Independent judgment and discretion in management of workload
18. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
19. Professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
20. Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook
21. Knowledge of working with law firm case/document management programs
22. Ability to perform effectively within established time limits and ongoing deadlines
23. Notary Public or willing to become a Notary Public
24. Paralegal Certificate a plus
Paid holidays, sick, PTO. Pay commensurate with experience. Supplemental health only. Discretionary bonuses. Willing to discuss hybrid schedule for the right candidate.
