The Village at Grand Traverse Commons that North Coast Legal calls home is currently experiencing lower level flooding. We do not believe that this effect the North Coast offices on the 2nd floor, but our thoughts go out to the Mercado Village shops, neighbors and Villagers. We hope the damage is small and quickly repairable. The Billage is asking everyone to stay clear for now.

In addition to Federally backed loans (HUD, Freddie, Fannie) being on a 60 Day "freeze", New York has also created a 90 day deferment procedure based upon Hardship. NCL predicts something similar from Michigan and possibly some form of mandatory Mortgage Modification Procedure similar to the legislation from 2009 Mortgage crisis. Some of our clients have voluntarily started deferment procedures.

New York State is directing banks to waive mortgage payments for 90 days for those facing hardship with no negative effect to the borrower’s credit score, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced today.

This was Mr. Naughton’s second case before the Honorable Court in 2019, with the other still awaiting the Court’s ruling.

The Michigan Supreme Court says an attempt to recall a state lawmaker from office can continue.
