The owner Liz Carney was too busy organizing her Trump rally to pay me. In 2020 I was hired as a salesperson at Grand Bay Marine by Liz Carney and Kyle Oleson. I was hired to focus on internet boat sales. On March 23rd 2020 the dealership was tempo
rarily closed due to COVID 19. My family and I have still not been paid by Liz Carney. The shutdown of Michigan was very stressful for Michigan workers and when a business owner owes me approximately $5000 in unpaid sales commissions, it made it worse. I have 3 young children and we could have lost our house! I have all documents related to what Liz owes me however she claimed that I would have had to been employed at the time of boat delivery to be paid- one problem, Liz forgot to call me back to work after the State of Michigan allowed the dealership to open back up in May 2020. Liz totally blew me off never returning phone calls or text messages. When I tried to talk to "Pastor" Kyle Oleson about the money that I was owed he laughed and told me to "follow my dreams". My claims are all factual backed up by evidence which I can provide on request. This is a horrible thing to do especially during a pandemic! I made a claim with Michigan Wage & Hour and they actually found in Liz's favor due to the fact that Liz Carney lied to them about what she owes me. I didn't have much faith in Michigan Wage & Hour however, I had to exhaust all ways to get justice before this went to a full blown lawsuit. First Liz Carney told the investigator that I had quit which was a LIE... At a recent Wage & Hour hearing, Liz Carney lied under oath claiming that I had created a fake Facebook account and duplicated all her inventory in the attempts to fraudulently sell her boats on the internet, I was the internet salesperson! My interpretation of the law... she committed slander and perjury by lying about me during a court hearing. Liz apparently thinks nothing of lying during a court proceeding... During the same hearing Liz was asked by the Wage & Hour administrative Judge why I wasn't called back to work. Liz Carney again lied under oath and claimed that I had told her that "I was coming to get her". There is no evidence to support this accusation- I never said anything like this. Remember she never answered my calls so I could have never said that to her. And now this week Liz is having her in house boat show. Customers need to know how she really is. Liz is retaliating against me and deliberately not paying me because on the last day before the state shutdown in March 2020, I questioned a potential COVID 19 exposure in the dealership showroom. During the height of the CDC warnings for international travelers to self-quarantine to avoid spreading COVID 19, Liz had just arrived from an international flight and was in the showroom on March 23rd 2020 without any self-quarantine. Liz and one of the sales managers were having a verbal altercation about the lack of quarantine and many of the employees walked out. I also questioned the potential exposure and that is one of the reasons I was retaliated against. Liz is also retaliating against me for making a formal Wage & Hour complaint. Liz Carney also expected the Grand Bay Marine sales staff to work as volunteers while still on unemployment. Being a former police officer I'm assuming Liz knew I would not commit unemployment fraud. Again, these are the people who are selling the high dollar boats in Traverse City. People should know the real story behind the dealership who preaches Christian family values however, the Carney's are too busy hosting Trump rallies to care for their own employees. There are so many other boat dealers in Traverse City! Walstrom's is right across the street and there are several others in the immediate area. I am still looking for an attorney to take my case against Liz Carney for deliberate non payment of sales commissions and retaliation.
