I want to share that I’ll be leaving Rick Law and beginning a new chapter at King Laird, PC in Trappe starting September 2. I’m very grateful for my time at Rick Law and for the clients and colleagues I’ve had the privilege to work with.

I’m looking forward to this new opportunity and continuing to serve the community in my new role.

Assistant coaching my daughter’s softball team in a team shirt, suit pants, and dress shoes—because sometimes there’s just no time to change.

Catching softballs in dress shoes isn’t easy, but the dad hustle was on point. Wouldn’t miss a game for anything!

Jake joined me for Take Your Child to Work Day and got a behind-the-scenes look at the legal world—

He experienced custody conciliation… from the waiting room, of course.

Then we toured the Berks County Judicial Center—no courtrooms this time, but lots to see and learn.
On the way home, he started explaining legal tips from Mike’s Law YouTube Shorts.

So now he thinks he’s my junior associate—minus the law degree, plus unlimited gaming breaks.

Squishmallows vs. Build-A-Bear: The fluff fight is on.

Kelly Toys says Build-A-Bear’s new “Skoosherz” look too familiar, and now they’re in a legal cuddle battle. Build-A-Bear tried to get all 3,000 Squishmallows for comparison — the judge said, “Let’s not get carried away.”

Turns out, even stuffed animals aren’t safe from courtroom drama.

But the lawyers will apparently get SOME Squishmallows

I remember this day like it was yesterday—refreshing the page a hundred times, second-guessing every answer, carrying the weight of months of studying. The bar exam is its own kind of marathon, but the waiting? That’s a mental game no one prepares you for.

To everyone waiting on Pennsylvania bar results: I see you. I’ve been you. It’s okay to feel anxious, to doubt, to dream, to worry. You’re not alone in that space between the announcement of the results and the result.

Whatever the outcome, know this—you’ve already done something extraordinary. You showed up, you fought through it, and you’re still standing. That’s strength. That’s grit. That’s the kind of lawyer the world needs.
