Fifth Circuit declares age restrictions on adult handgun purchases unconstitutional - Courthouse News Service

"A Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals panel ruled Thursday that a decades-old federal law banning handgun purchases by 18 to 20-year-olds violates the Second Amendment. The ruling is an about-face from a prior ruling where the appeals court initially found the law constitutional in 2012. The three-judge panel attributed the switch up to the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark 2022 decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen, which held that gun restrictions must be consistent with the historical tradition of firearm regulation in the U.S."

The appellate panel ruled that a federal law prohibiting fi****ms dealers from selling handguns to adults under 21 is inconsistent with firearm regulations at the time of the country's founding.

It doesn't matter if your gun is legal. Harris County prosecutes Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon (Class A misdemeanor) if you are in a vehicle with a gun in your possession and with Cannabis flower in your possession. Possession of Cannabis in personal use amounts is still illegal in Harris County (Class B misdemeanor) even though they don't prosecute it.

To recap: you can have either w**d or the gun. Not both.

Today, members with Constable Mark Herman's Office attended a press conference at Constable Alan Rosen's Toll Road Station regarding this weekend's multi-agency Driving While Intoxicated No Refusal initiative.

This zero tolerance initiative will run from Friday, May 27 thru Monday, May 30, 2022.

Call an uber or cab or AAA tipsy tow rather than risk a DWI. Trust me it's alot cheaper. If you do insist on drinking and driving and are pulled over:
Refuse all Tests (including field sobriety, breath test, and refuse blood test even if it is no refusal)
Do not answer any questions relating to how many or what type of drinks you've had, when you last ate, when your first/last drink was.
Simply say "I do not want to do or say anything until I speak with my attorney."

Since many people I have spoken to have read this incorrectly, I will give a short summary of what is illegal:

1) Any substance (other than delta 9) that contains thc in ANY concentration (%) is illegal. This includes delta 8, delta 10, or any other form that pops up later, REGARDLESS OF THC %

2) Delta 9 that exceeds .3% thc is illegal.

Both categories are schedule 1 drugs.

**The only legal related substance is delta 9 which is less than .3% thc***
